Career/Experience


Yasir is a trainee solicitor at Law Lane. Having completed his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) University of Law in 2020, he is currently completing his Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Yasir has worked in a number of different departments across a number of disciplines. His expertise includes:

·         Assisting in immigration matters including: Tier 1 Applications, Tier 2 Applications, Judicial Review, Administrative Review, Immigration Applications: FLR(FP), FLR(M), EEA(FM), EEA(EFM), SET(O), SET(LR) etc.

·         Filling and submitting online applications for leave to enter and stay in the UK, under supervision

·         Drafting grounds for appeal, grounds for bail application, statement of additional grounds etc., under supervision

·         Preparing brief to counsel

·         Liaising with Barrister’s clerks, clients and respondents

·         Preparing court bundles

·         Communicating with the court

·         Ensuring deadlines are met

·         Drafting of bills of costs and costs schedules

·         Preparing new electronic bills

·         Preparing precedent budgets

·         Drafting estimates of costs

·         Dealing with Part 8 matters

·         Preparing N260 costs schedules

·         Negotiating costs

·         Preparing points of dispute/replies

·         Taking files to provisional/detailed assessment

·         Complete post assessment work including agreeing figures and concluding assessment process

·         Providing costs advice/guidance to fee earners as and when required

·         Dealing with paying party solicitors on a day-to-day basis

Maintaining the highest client care standards

·         Working to deadlines and targets

·         Prioritising workload

·         Keeping up to date with the knowledge of the claims and court processes.
